Grounding is the practice of re-aligning your energy to its natural state. Sometimes life gets hectic and you need techniques to bring you back to Earth. Grounding has been known to decrease physical ailments, depression, and fatigue. Energy grounding is important to bring back your peace of mind and clarity. The techniques listed below can be used during bouts of anxiety or stress, or as a daily practice to keep your energy flowing in the right direction.
1. Get Barefoot

Get outside! As a child, my mom could never get shoes on me before I would run out the door. I thought the grass felt so good beneath my feet, and now I know why I liked it so much. That skin to earth contact naturally re aligns our energy. This method is also scientifically backed. Our bodies contain negative ions, while the earth emits positive ions. These ions collide and our bodies become neutralized; resulting in an increased sense of peace and overall well being.
2.Grounding Crystals

Keeping grounding crystals on you is an easy way to help center your energy throughout the day. Grounding crystals can even be used alongside the other techniques listed in this article to maximize effects. There are a few crystals that I would recommend, these include: smoky quartz, black tourmaline, or red jasper. Smokey quartz can help you to maintain focus and reign in scattered thoughts. Black tourmaline provides a heavy anchor for your energy and brings you back to the here and now. Red jasper works with the root chakra to stabilize your mood and overall patience.
3. Visualization/breathing

For this technique, you want to begin by firmly planting your feet on the ground and taking a few deep breaths in. Once you feel calm, close your eyes and visualize a white light surrounding you. Not only will this white light calm you, but it will also provide you with an energetic shield of protection. This is good to do before you leave the house to start your day, or before you go to sleep. P.S remember to give thanks after this technique, your guides will be assisting.
